Truth Be Told: the visible & invisible sides to living with secondary breast cancer

Living with a secondary breast cancer diagnosis is emotionally, mentally and physically gruelling for patients and those closest to them. With an estimated 61,000 people in the UK living with this disease, and 1 in 3 people in the UK having never heard of it, raising awareness and giving a voice to those living with it is crucial.

Often, we only see the outward face that these women and men present and have no idea of the struggles, isolation, physical or emotional toil this disease causes. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we have extended our 2023 Truth Be Told campaign to shine a light on the difficulties but also the hope, strength and positivity of living with secondary breast cancer through powerful imagery by Irish photographer Jennifer Willis.
