Lianne gets ready for the Falkirk Wheel Abseil Challenge

Next month sees the launch of one of our new fundraising challenges: Abseiling the Falkirk Wheel! Lianne from the Make 2nds Count Fundraising Team will be taking part in this epic challenge to raise money to help support secondary breast cancer patients.

“As some of you may know, I am the Community and Events Fundraiser for Make 2nds Count.

I have been with Make 2nds Count since September 2022. Within this time I have witnessed so many courageous fundraisers and supported them through their fundraising campaigns. Working at Make 2nds Count has allowed me to witness first hand the importance of our support, research and education programmes. This is why I have decided it is my turn to put myself in the shoes of our amazing fundraisers and take on a fundraising challenge of my own.

On the 17th March 2024, I will be joining some of our other fundraisers to take on the challenge of the Falkirk Wheel Abseil. Taking place at the iconic Falkirk Wheel in Scotland, I will abseil 100ft off the world's first, and only, rotating boat lift. I will be honest, I am not very fond of heights so this is a real challenge for me. I am getting through it by not actually thinking about what I have signed up for!

However, I am really excited about taking part in this event, not only as I am getting the opportunity to support Make 2nds Count on a personal level, but I am getting to take on the challenge with our community fundraisers, meaning I am sharing this experience with the ones who support us. We now only have one space remaining at this event.
