Make 2nds Count and its Board of Trustees have been made aware of the negative representation of the charity on social media by Lisa Fleming, following the action requested by Lisa and Euan Fleming to remove any references to their connection to Make 2nds Count as a result of their personal decision to step away from the charity last year. We understand these have been difficult decisions on their part, and Lisa and Euan’s role as founders will always be part of the charity’s history.
As previously stated, in May 2022 Lisa and Euan Fleming resigned from the Board. On Sept. 30, 2022, Lisa Fleming chose not to accept a contract to continue her paid advisor role, and the Flemings notified the charity that they were stepping away from any future involvement. In 2023 Lisa Fleming raised an employment tribunal claim against the charity which she subsequently withdrew in June 2023.
Contrary to what Lisa has said on recent social media posts, she was not offered £20,000 as compensation. No payment was made by the charity, nor did the charity offer any agreement on the merits, in return for her decision to withdraw her claim.
The Board and team’s sole aim is to continue to deliver on our mission to provide hope for those affected by secondary breast cancer through research, education and support, and we fully intend to continue on this path.
