How does secondary breast cancer affect your life?

Fatigue - join pain - hair loss - loss of intimacy with partner - heel pain - insomnia - breathlessness - pain when standing and walking

 

What advice would you give to someone newly diagnosed?

Get as much help and support as you can. Don’t struggle on your own.

Has your treatment line changed since you completed SBC & Me last year?

No, still on 1st line

 

How are you coping?

Ok. Some good, some bad days. Mobility affected due to breathlessness and pain

 

Do the side effects affect your life daily? If yes, please explain

Yes, find it difficult to carry out daily tasks because of fatigue

 

Have you found a routine that works for your everyday life? If yes, please explain

Yes, do jobs in morning,. Rest in afternoon.

 

Do you feel anything is missed when it comes to living with secondary breast cancer? Medically or Socially

Yes. Medically - was initially misdiagnosed as muscle pain, until vertebrae eventually collapsed.


Socially - don't go out much as I get too tired. Don’t have family round for meals often as it’s too tiring for me

 

Have you treated yourself to anything since your diagnosis? If yes, please explain

No can’t afford to

 

Has it changed your perspective on life? If yes, please explain

Yes, live for the here and now. Treasure your family.
