Every month around 1,000 people die from Secondary Breast Cancer. That's 31 people each day, or one every 45 minutes.
We have spent Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaigning to raise awareness of Secondary Breast Cancer. Although Breast Cancer Awareness Month ends today, Make 2nds Count will continue to raise awareness, fund research and offer support for Secondary Breast Cancer patients.
We will continue until these are no longer facts for Secondary Breast Cancer patients:
· Every year around 11,500 women and 85 men die from Secondary Breast Cancer in the UK.
· There are an estimated 35,000 people living with Secondary Breast Cancer in the UK. For approximately 5% of those with the disease, breast cancer has already spread by the time it is diagnosed.
· 30% of patients with primary breast cancer will go on to be diagnosed with Secondary Breast Cancer.
· Many people are living with and beyond the average life expectancy but there is still a median average survival rate of just 2-3 years for those living with Secondary Breast Cancer.

Secondary Breast Cancer remains a massively underfunded and underrepresented form of the disease and we at Make 2nds Count are determined to ensure that this disparity changes, for the sake of all those living with this incurable cancer.”
