Hi, I’m Evan Moffitt. I’m from Fife in Scotland, but I live in London now. I’m 21 years old, and my mum was diagnosed two years ago with secondary breast cancer. She told me years ago that we would do a skydive together when I turned 18—but covid was happening then and we couldn’t do it. The next year she was diagnosed with metastatic cancer that is in many of her bones and has damaged her spine.
She can’t skydive now—but I can, and I’ve decided to dive in support of Make 2nds Count, a charity that means a lot to us.
I love that Make 2nds Count funds important research that is focused on treatment and support for secondary breast cancer. M2C also supports patients in understanding and accessing clinical trials, and the patient groups have been important for my mum to feel understood and connected and supported. With over 57,000 secondary breast cancer patients in the U.K., there is so much need for this!
Make 2nds Count is making a big difference in helping patients have longer, better lives – which is exactly what I want for my mum.
I’m going to jump out of an airplane, and my mum will be on the ground cheering for me. And I’m thankful for every person who is also going to be part of this through your donations and support. Every gift matters! Together we are going to make a difference to Make 2nds Count!
