LIMBER Survey Infographic Make 2nds Count is proud to share an infographic detailing some of the preliminary results from a UK survey that measured informational needs & quality of life in women Living with Metastatic Breast CancER (the LIMBER study). In the summer of 2021 Make 2nds Count awarded a 1-year grant to the Sussex Health Outcomes, Research & Education in Cancer (SHORE-C) group who conduct research in psychosocial oncology at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School to conduct the LIMBER study.

We are delighted that on October 10th 2022 the Scottish Medicine Consortium (SMC) announced a decision to approve a new medicine that will be made available in NHS Scotland for certain patients with advanced or secondary Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). Pembrolizumab, also known under the brand name Keytruda®, is an immunotherapy drug for the treatment of patients with TNBC.

Exemestane is a type of hormone therapy drug. You might have it as a treatment for breast cancer after you have had the menopause.

Anastrozole is a type of hormone therapy. It is a treatment for breast cancer that is hormone sensitive.

What is Letrozole Letrozole is a hormonal therapy drug used to treat breast cancer in women who have been through the menopause. Sometimes it is used to treat breast cancer in men.

Fulvestrant is a hormone treatment for post menopausal women with locally advanced or advanced breast cancer.

Tamoxifen Tamoxifen is a hormone therapy for breast cancer in both women and men. It lowers the risk of early breast cancer coming back (recurring) after surgery or developing in the other breast.

What is Trastuzumab Emtansine Trastuzumab emtansine is a type of targeted cancer drug. It is also known by its brand name Kadcyla and TDM1.
