LIMBER Survey Infographic Make 2nds Count is proud to share an infographic detailing some of the preliminary results from a UK survey that measured informational needs & quality of life in women Living with Metastatic Breast CancER (the LIMBER study). In the summer of 2021 Make 2nds Count awarded a 1-year grant to the Sussex Health Outcomes, Research & Education in Cancer (SHORE-C) group who conduct research in psychosocial oncology at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School to conduct the LIMBER study.

Keytruda® Approved by the Scottish Medicine Consortium (SMC)
We are delighted that on October 10th 2022 the Scottish Medicine Consortium (SMC) announced a decision to approve a new medicine that will be made available in NHS Scotland for certain patients with advanced or secondary Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). Pembrolizumab, also known under the brand name Keytruda®, is an immunotherapy drug for the treatment of patients with TNBC.

Make 2nds Count announcement
Make 2nds Count is sad to announce that its founders, Lisa and Euan Fleming, have decided to step away from future involvement with the charity. Since resigning from the board in May 2022, Lisa and Euan have been in conversation with the Board of Trustees about stepping back from their roles permanently and have now decided that they no longer wish to continue as ambassadors.

Kimberly & Sean's Story
Today I want to share with you a story about one of our supporters, Kimberly & her husband Sean. Kimberly was diagnosed with primary Triple negative breast cancer in October 2018 when she was 40 years old.

Exemestane
Exemestane is a type of hormone therapy drug. You might have it as a treatment for breast cancer after you have had the menopause.

Anastrozole
Anastrozole is a type of hormone therapy. It is a treatment for breast cancer that is hormone sensitive.

How Were You Diagnosed?
When were you diagnosed with secondary breast cancer? I was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer on the 13th June 2022 in my brain following a seizure whilst out running.

Letrozole
What is Letrozole Letrozole is a hormonal therapy drug used to treat breast cancer in women who have been through the menopause. Sometimes it is used to treat breast cancer in men.

Has your treatment line changed since you completed SBC & Me last year? I am still on the same treatment of Letrozole.

Fulvestrant

Fulvestrant is a hormone treatment for post menopausal women with locally advanced or advanced breast cancer.
