The Macmillan Benefits Team is a partnership which exists to provide an advice and support service for people affected by cancer and their families in the West Dunbartonshire Council area. They offer a free and confidential benefit check, advice and guidance on income maximisation, including support to make claims, access to grants and other sources of assistance. This can be self-referral or referral by Social Work or Health Professionals.

We can assist with maximizing & help you and your family claim the relevant benefits eg Personal Independence Payment and Attendance Allowance, Carers Allowance, New Style Contribution Based Employment and Support Allowance, Universal Credit advice as well as advise relating to help with Housing costs and Council Tax Benefit, Pension Credit, Tax Credits and Bereavement Benefits .We can advise all devolved Scottish Social Security benefits as well as grants etc. including Funeral Support Payment . The Service can also help you to claim Macmillan grants, Scottish Welfare Fund :community care grants. Provide help and advice with fuel costs and access schemes relating to boiler replacement and white goods( limited availability ).W e can help you access local resources and support including aids and adaptations, blue badge information, home help etc. Our Service offers support during illness , to return to work as well as support following bereavement .We offer representation at tribunal hearings in relation to Social Security benefits.

Renfrewshire Macmillan Advice Service part of Renfrewshire Council's Advice Works

The Macmillan Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service provides advice and support on welfare benefits and debt to people affected by cancer living in the Renfrewshire area. We provide a free and confidential specialist Welfare Rights service to people living with cancer and to their families. We can advise on a range of issues including benefits and income maximisation and assist with any other related issues you may have, such as housing, debt and employment. We can also help you with form completion, advocacy and representation at tribunals. Our aim is to strive to ensure that people affected by cancer receive the support and help they need.

Macmillan North Lanarkshire Advice Service

The service is a partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support, The Citizens Advice Bureau, North and South Lanarkshire councils, NHS Lanarkshire and The Pension Service. The service provides assistance with benefits, patient grants, debt, employment and housing issues. The service is delivered via home visits, telephone, outreach sessions in local hospitals, ward visits and appointments in local Citizens Advice Bureau offices.

The team provide financial advice and assistance to people affected by cancer across Forth Valley. The Project Workers provide a financial wellbeing check; help complete benefit claim forms & appeal against benefit decisions; assist in applying for grants and transport concessions such as blue badge; and help with costs such as travel to hospital.
