'Patient Trial Advocate' (PTA) Service by Make 2nds Count
make2ndscount.co.ukMake 2nds Count Patient Trial Advocate (PTA) Service
The PTA service is here to help secondary breast cancer patients potentially find a clinical trial and to support them through the clinical trial process.
Finding the right information about available clinical trials and understanding the associated complex information is a challenge for all secondary breast cancer patients.
The PTA is ran by senior research nurses with experience in secondary breast cancer and clinical trials.
If you are a patient living in the UK with metastatic breast cancer and interested in seeking advice about a clinical trial, please complete the referral form on the PTA section of the M2C website and book a slot to speak with a member of the team.

Dumbarton / wdhscp.org.uk
The team operating as The West Dunbartonshire Macmillan Carers Services comprises of: The Macmillan Carers Service and the Macmillan Volunteer Service. These services work as one and are available to anyone affected by cancer. Both provide support complementary to, and not a substitute for, other services available or already provided at the time of referral. The support offered by both the carers and/or volunteers is very much ‘client led’ providing sensitive and flexible help to clients and their carers, e.g. delivering care at home, accompanying to hospital appointments, respite for carers or other social activities.

Move More Inverclyde
Greenock / inverclydeleisure.com
If you are living with cancer in Inverclyde, Inverclyde Leisure in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support offer a free programme to help you get and stay active. Our activities are suitable for everyone, regardless of where you are in your cancer journey. We’ll ask you a few questions, listen to what you have to say and then discuss ways of making physical activity a part of your life. And it doesn’t matter if you’ve never been a particularly active person. We run classes for all abilities and even activities such as gardening or walking could be part of your programme. Taking part in physical activity during and after cancer treatment can play a huge part in enabling you to take back control. It can help you prevent and manage some of the effects of treatment, such as fatigue, depression and risks to your heart health. And lots of people tell us that it helps them to feel more like their old self. What’s more, Move More Inverclyde classes are open to everyone, whether you’re going through treatment or have long finished. You can even bring along a friend or relative to some activities. And they’re a great place to meet others with similar experiences and to share your support, as well as to help one another stay positive and keep active.
