'Patient Trial Advocate' (PTA) Service by Make 2nds Count
make2ndscount.co.ukMake 2nds Count Patient Trial Advocate (PTA) Service
The PTA service is here to help secondary breast cancer patients potentially find a clinical trial and to support them through the clinical trial process.
Finding the right information about available clinical trials and understanding the associated complex information is a challenge for all secondary breast cancer patients.
The PTA is ran by senior research nurses with experience in secondary breast cancer and clinical trials.
If you are a patient living in the UK with metastatic breast cancer and interested in seeking advice about a clinical trial, please complete the referral form on the PTA section of the M2C website and book a slot to speak with a member of the team.

Bolton Cancer Voices
Bolton / boltoncancervoices.org.uk
Founded in June 2012 Bolton Cancer Voices is an inspirational, welcoming Choir open to adults who have received a cancer diagnosis of any type at some point in their life. The Choir provides a positive, motivational and diversionary environment where members have fun, share their love of singing, enjoy the challenges and exhilaration of performing and have a focus aside from their illness. We offer an informal forum to meet with others in a similar situation and benefit from mutual support and understanding. Though cancer brings us together it’s not allowed to define or restrict us: we are a community Choir like any other, with a full programme of appearances and activities to look forward to, along with many dreams and aspirations. Membership is FREE: there is no requirement to read music or have any previous singing experience and no auditions to worry about. Rehearsals take place on Mondays, between 7.30pm – 9pm. PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH KAREN ELLIOTT BEFORE ATTENDING.

Bosom Friends (Bradford)
Bradford / facebook.com
Bosom Friends is Bradford’s self help and support group for women who are living with or beyond breast cancer. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7pm at the Cancer Support Centre on Smith Lane. The meetings are friendly social events, an opportunity to chat over a cup of tea with other women who have experienced breast cancer. Much of the emphasis is about getting on with life with or after cancer and the content of the evening meeting varies from talks from guest speakers from the medical team, to quizzes, jewellery parties and other fun activities. We hold our annual Fashion Show in October which is always an amazing occasion for women who have/had breast cancer to strut their stuff looking great and feeling fabulous. We have our Pink Tombola at the Baildon Gala in July and hold a Family Christmas party in December. Bosom Friends is a registered charity and we rely entirely on fund raising and voluntary donations. Funds raised are used in a number of ways to benefit women being treated in Bradford, either on an individual basis or to all Bradford women; for example we are recently helped make the Dales Suite at St Luke’s Hospital a pleasant and welcoming place by providing a coffee machine and we have funded a spectacular art display. If you would like more information about Bosom Friends, the meetings or feel you would just like to talk on a one to one basis with someone who has been through the same experience as yourself, please contact us through our Facebook page.
