FORCE offers information, emotional support and practical advice to anyone affected by cancer, at any point in their lives. The service is free and confidential and available to patients, their families and carers, as well as health professionals. FORCE provides: A relaxed and comfortable purpose built Support Centre in Exeter, plus selected ‘outreach’ services in Tiverton, Okehampton and Honiton; An opportunity to ask questions about cancer treatment and side-effects from experienced Oncology Nurses; Highly skilled Support Specialists, who provide emotional support and practical guidance; In-depth support in the form of Counselling is also available; Individual assessment and advice from an experienced Oncology Physiotherapist who can help with the physical impact of cancer treatment and the management of fatigue; Group-based Exercise and Education Programmes; A range of Complimentary Therapies are available to both patients and their immediate carer, to promote relaxation and wellbeing; Benefits and Welfare Advice from an experienced Benefits Advisor; Group Support for specific cancer sites, the management of anxiety, mindfulness, relaxation, and Creative Art.

We also provide emotional and holistic support for partners, families and carers. We offer a non-clinical environment where people can just ‘drop in’ for a cup of tea and a chat. If you would like to talk through your concerns a Health Needs Assessment appointment can be booked with one of our Support Workers. Our Support Workers can help you explore these concerns and then provide you with appropriate information and/or help you to be referred or signposted to appropriate services in your area. We have an extensive leaflet library, and also offer a signposting service to other local groups and agencies. We also run Early caner information and support clinics and other wellbeing courses. Other activities/services offered: Complimentary Therapy Service (free), referrals on to a Dietician Clinic, referrals or signposting to Counselling / Psychological support, information on Cancer Exercise programmes in and around Bristol and referrals to the Macmillan Benefits Service. When you've got cancer, you can sometimes struggle to get the information you need. Other times, you're overwhelmed with information and you can't take it all in. That's why Macmillan has worked with Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to create this new Macmillan Information Hub. The Hub is a place to get information, support and signposting with the help of staff and trained volunteers, no matter what stage of the cancer journey you’re at. Whether its questions about treatment, help with signs and symptoms, finances, diet and exercise, or understanding what support networks there are available the Macmillan hub can help.

The Cancer Information & Support Centre based in the Beacon Centre offers information and support to anyone affected by cancer. The Cancer Information & Support Officer together with a team of volunteers provide a listening ear, as well as verbal and written information, to patients and their family and friends and anyone who might be affected by cancer This also includes support for carers.
On Wednesdays a Macmillan Benefits Adviser is available for pre-booked appointments and some drop-in sessions in the Cancer Information & Support Centre to offer advice to those affected by cancer. A 24 Hour Answer Service is available when the centre is unmanned so that a message can be left.

The Macmillan Cancer Support Centre at Weston General Hospital

We provide a warm welcome ensuring there is always someone to listen and share your concerns with. We can help with emotional support as well as linking you to national and local support groups. Anyone affected by cancer can visit the Centre to access an extensive range of information and support resources. The Centre is staffed by a Macmillan Centre Manager, supported by a team of Macmillan Cancer Support Workers and volunteers. We offer free information in many formats and languages, also access to the Macmillan Benefits Advice Service via an appointment for financial support.
